Learn about the benefits of virtual and mixed reality for helicopter pilot training.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) officially qualified the first virtual reality-based training solution, featuring Varjo virtual reality, for aviation training. In this webinar, you'll hear how this was accomplished.
Developed and built by VRM Switzerland, the helicopter pilot simulator features Varjo XR-3 and unique technology developed by the Swiss flight training solution provider. Because the qualification is directly from the aviation authority, any customers of VRM Switzerland can start using the VR training solution without further national certification according to EASA regulations.
Watch the recording to learn:
- what VR means for the future of training in flight schools and helicopter companies;
- why this solution is a more cost-effective, environmentally friendly way to prepare and train pilots worldwide;
- the challenges and innovations required to successfully implement this landmark achievement.

Accelerating pilot readiness with photorealistic, fully immersive VR training.
“Pilots should receive realistic training on simulators. This allows helicopter operators and flight schools to fly more efficiently and safely. Thanks to our cooperation with [the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)], we can offer directly creditable training.
Our VR concept, which includes the Varjo XR-3 Head Mounted Display (HMD), Pose Tracking combined with a VR Haptic Cockpit on a highly dynamic 6DOF motion platform, provides a training device with the highest possible visual fidelity, allowing pilots to be fully immersed.”
